From the southernmost edge of the Southern Desert, the land becomes more
temperate as one approaches the southern ocean. Halfway between the Great
Southern Road and the oriental city of Daigaku-Tatami, the desert sands bear
vegetation, and it thickens eastward to form a jungle. It is here Don Milano
established a colony of humans from beyond the sea only a short while ago.
He drove the natives from before him, tamed wild beasts to till the land, and
worked the soil to produce food for his people. With Don Milano came weapons
never before seen in the world: firearms. These, from the primitive
harquebuss to the more advanced wheellock petronels, coupled with their steel
armor, make the soldiers under Don Milano's command quite formidable.
It is no secret that Don Milano's men displaced a number of Aztecs while
founding the colony. It is also no secret that they are still at odds to
this day--but there have been a few exceptions, and the new genotype of human
produced by the mingling of their races now comprise the bulk of Don Milano's
colony. They are too few in number to expand their borders any further at
the moment, but left unchecked this prolific and industrious people may soon
become a force for all others to reckon with.
Don Milano has opened a well-marked road at the southern end of his walled
compound to take advantage of the many merchants that travel to and from the
east. Visitors may enter during the day unhindered.
Recently, Don Milano's soldiers have had several decisive victories over the
Aztecs, driving them to the protective walls of their city and making the
jungle safer for hunting, fishing and traveling.
